3rd level Transmutation
Classes: Bard, Magus, Sorcerer, Wizard
Domains: Planes, Travel
Components: V, S
Casting Time: Standard
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 minute (D)
Spell Resistance: No
Description: You “blink” back and forth between the Material Plane and the Ethereal Plane. You look as though you're winking in and out of reality very quickly and at random. When an effect targets you, roll a dice to determine whether you are in the Material or Ethereal Planes (odd = Material, even = Ethereal). Attacks and spells that target you directly miss if you are in a different plane. Because you can somewhat time your own attacks, you get two chances to make your own attacks and spells work. Roll the dice twice. If either roll matches the plane of your target, you are able to make the attack or spell work. Opponents you attack are considered flat-footed against you.
While in the Ethereal Plane, you can step through (but not see through) solid objects. Every 5 feet check to see whether you return to the Material Plane. If this occurs, you are shunted off to the nearest open space and take 1d6 points of damage per 5 feet so traveled.
While blinking, you only take half damage from area of effect spells and fall damage, though force effects and abjurations affect you normally.
