Casting Time: Standard
Range: 60 ft
Target: One undead creature
Duration: 1 day/level
Saving Throw: CHA Negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
Description: This spell allows you a degree of control over an undead creature. Any act by you or your apparent allies that threatens the commanded undead breaks the spell. Your commands are not telepathic. The undead creature must be able to hear you. If you die, all controlled or charmed undead are immediately freed.
If the subject is intelligent, you charm them. it perceives your words and actions favorably (NPC attitude = friendly). It will not attack you while the spell lasts. Anything you ask the subject to do still requires a persuasion check. An intelligent commanded undead never obeys suicidal or obviously harmful orders, but it might be convinced that some task is worth doing. Intelligent undead get a new saving throw every day to resist the effect. Once it wears off, they are aware of your attempt to control them.
If the subject is unintelligent, you control them. They get no saving throw against this spell. When you control a mindless being, you can communicate only basic commands, such as "come here," "go there," "fight," "stand still," and so on. Nonintelligent undead won't resist suicidal or obviously harmful orders.
Leveling: At level 4, you can control multiple undead with this spell. You have control over 2 HD of undead per level, all of which must be in range when you cast the spell.
At level 7, this spell not only controls multiple undead (2 HD / level), it also controls intelligent undead, not just charms them. Intelligent undead still get a CHA save to avoid the effect. They also get a new saving throw every day to attempt to break control.
