1st level Enchantment
Classes: Bard, Sorcerer, Witch, Wizard
Domains: Mind
Components: V, S
Casting Time: Standard
Range: 30 ft
Target: One living creature
Duration: Maintained Concentration
Saving Throw: INT negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
Description: Your gestures and droning incantation fascinate a creature, causing it to stop and stare blankly at you for as long as you continue to maintain concentration on the hypnotism (INT save negates). The target must be able to see and hear you to be affected, though it does not need to understand you. If you use this spell in combat, the target gains advantage on its saving throw. The spell ends on a creature if it takes damage or is shaken out of its stupor by an ally (standard action).
If you can communicate with the creature, you can attempt to make a single request of it while it is fascinated. The request must be brief and reasonable. It cannot put the target in a position where it would incur physical, social, or financial risk. After the spell ends, the creature retains an NPC attitude of friendly toward you, but only with respect to that particular request. A creature that fails its saving throw does not remember that you enchanted it.
Leveling: At level 2, creatures in combat no longer make saves at advantage. At level 4, the spell's range jumps to 120 and it fascinates up to 24 HD of creatures, starting with those closest to the point of origin. You cannot make a request of so many people, but as a free action, you are also able to make the point of origin, causing all fascinated individuals to follow it. Creatures who move into a dangerous area get a second saving throw.
