Description: With this spell you perform a ritual that attempts to bring the dead back to life, though this is not done lightly. Deities do not sanction resurrection for just anybody, and if your power to reverse death comes from a divine source, they will not likely grant such a boon to creatures who don't represent the tenants of their faith. Some divine powers may also require this ritual to be performed at a certain time or place, one of special significance to the deity. Some witches also have the power to bring back the dead, though witches rarely make such deals for free.

Resurrection is an ordeal, and those who experience death are forever changed. Some who return act oddly, aloof, or simply off, though others weather the experience without a second thought. Regardless, to be resurrected, the creature's soul must be willing to return to its body. You can never restore life to someone who has died of old age or one that has been dead more than 10 days. Creatures that have been turned into undead also cannot be resurrected.

When a creature is successfully resurrected, they heal one point of constitution and hp damage, but their overall constitution score is permanently decreased by 1. Your hit point max and other constitution-based scores may likewise decrease by the appropriate amount. Newly resurrected creatures are also fatigued (level 3), but normal diseases and poisons are cured by the ritual. Magical afflictions are still in place, and missing body parts are not restored when the body is restored to life. If the creature cannot survive without the missing body part (i.e. the head) then the spell fails.

Leveling: Level 7: At this level, resurrected creatures are not only returned to life, but they are fully healed and made whole. They regain full hit points, recover any ability damage, suffer no fatigue, and are cured of all poisoning and disease. Provided the creature wasn't killed by life drain, all life drain is healed as well. The condition of the body is not a factor, as it will be made whole by the spell. So long as some small portion of the creature's body still exists, it can be resurrected, but the portion receiving the spell must have been part of the creature's body at the time of death. Resurrected creatures still lose 1 point from their Con score. Creatures can be dead no longer than 100 years. Casting this spell to restore life to a creature that has been dead for more than one year taxes you greatly. Until you finish a long rest, you cant cast spells again, and you have disadvantage on all d20 rolls. Material Component: A sprinkle of holy water and diamonds worth a total of at least 10,000 gp

Level 9: This version of the spell functions as per level 7, except that it can even bring back creatures whose bodies have been destroyed, provided that you unambiguously identify the deceased in some fashion (reciting the deceased's time and place of birth or death is the most common method). It can also revive someone who has been turned into undead, provided their undead form is killed first. Resurrected individuals also do not lose a point from their constitution score when revived. At level 9, you can resurrect a creature that has been dead for as long as 200 years. Material Component: A sprinkle of holy water and diamonds worth a total of at least 25,000 gp.
