2nd level Conjuration
Classes: Magus, Sorcerer, Witch, Wizard
Domains: Animal
Components: V, S, M (A bit of spider web)
Casting Time: Standard
Range: 120 ft
Effect: Webs in a 20-ft.-radius spread
Duration: 1 hour (D)
Saving Throw: DEX negates
Spell Resistance: No
Description: Web creates a many-layered mass of strong, sticky strands. These strands trap those caught in them. The strands are similar to spider webs but far larger and tougher. These masses must be anchored to two or more solid and diametrically opposed points or else the web collapses upon itself and disappears.
Anyone who starts their turn in the webs or moves into them must make a DEX save or become grappled (level 2, dominated). Grappled creatures can take a full round action and make a STR save to free themselves. Even when not grappled, the webs hinder movement and are considered rough terrain.
Attacking a creature in a web won't cause you to become entangled, though a target in the web gains 1/4 cover for every 5 feet of distance (full cover at 20 feet).
The strands of a web spell are flammable. A magic flaming sword can slash them away as easily as a hand brushes away cobwebs. Any 5-foot cube of webs exposed to fire burns away in 1 round, dealing 2d4 fire damage to any creature that starts its turn in the fire.
Leveling: At level 5, when cast with a material component (5,000 gp. worth of diamond dust), this spell has a duration of Permanent. A permanent web that is damaged regrows in 10 minutes.
